Live out your dreams !
Preparing
for a one or two hour ride along
the bridle paths of the Lot, Richard
selects the horses which are waiting
in the shade, shaking their manes
with impatience. There is Chinouc,
Rocky, Jojo, Youri, Recif, Upsila,
Tagada and others. Some of the riders
know how to saddle their horses,
others are less confident. But Richard
is always on hand to help.
"Whatever your age, weight
or level of experience, anybody
can learn to ride" he says.
“I try above all to share
my love of horses and to make sure
every rider is at ease in the saddle.
To this end, I ask them all three
questions. One : have you ever ridden
before? Two : have you ever attended
a riding school ? Three : do you
know how to ride at a trot? Depending
on the reply I choose the appropriate
horse.”
Preparations for the ride are
underway. The firm slap of leather
as the horses are saddled, the chink
of stirrups, the gentle whinnying
of the mounts, the creak of girths
being tightened... Before we leave
everyone feels a sense of eager
anticipation, keeping in mind Richard's
advice.
"Now off we go on our way to
new adventures," as Richard
loves to say.
We
leave at a leisurely pace, moving
into a gentle trot when the track
widens out. Up on the plateau Richard
reins in and gives further advice
before we attempt the gallop. For
the less experienced there are American
saddles available, these with a
pommel which helps the rider retain
a firm grip on the horse. A canter
across the chalk hills is an exhilerating
experience. In short, a wonderful
ride...
Returning one, two or three hours
later overyone is smiling, knowing
they have enjoyed a memorable adventure.
And it's the same every time !
